Food For You - Commodity Program

The San Joaquin County USDA Commodity Program, FOOD FOR YOU, provides free food to income-eligible households at the County’s 8 community centers and at multiple volunteer sites throughout the County.

Individuals must meet residence requirements and distribution sites are determined by household zip code. Eligibility is based on monthly income and household size. No application or proof of income are necessary; Individuals may provide a signature to certify that their income and residency meets the  guidelines or they can provide proof of residence  (i.e. utility bill, California ID etc.). income guidelinesOpens a PDF document and provide proof of residence (i.e. utility bill, rent receipt, etc.).

Food is distributed monthly at each of our sites. Most distributions occur on the third Thursday of the month. To offer alternatives to our residents, several locations distribute food on alternate days including the second Saturday, third Friday, and last Wednesday of the month. It is a program operated by the San Joaquin County Human Services Agency (HSA), Aging & Community Services Bureau. The Program provides free food to income-eligible residents in San Joaquin County.
